01How to delete it
You delete your BriefingMate account from inside the app, signed in to that account, so that nobody can ask for anyone else’s account to be deleted.
- Open BriefingMate on your Android phone, or go to app.briefingmate.com, and sign in.
- Tap your initial at the top right to open Account.
- Tap Delete account, and confirm.
02What happens next
We delete your account and everything in it within 30 days of your request. Until then it works as before, and you can keep it: open Account again and tap Keep my account.
If we decline a request, the app tells you why in the same place, and you can ask again. Once your account is deleted, every device signed in to it is signed out, and it cannot be brought back.
03What is deleted
- Your account: your email address, your name, profile picture link and Google account ID if you signed in with Google, and your password.
- Your notifications: every notification your PCs and phones synced to your account, and the daily briefs written from them.
- Your devices: the PCs and phones on your account, their names and colours, and their sign ins.
- Your calendars: the calendars your PCs synced, their events, and the tasks you ticked off.
- Notifications on your phone: what we keep to send push notifications to your phones.
- Your plan: your plan and the records of its payments.
04What is kept
- A record of the deletion: that an account was deleted and when, under its internal ID, without your email address.
- Backups: backups of our database made before the deletion keep a copy of your account until newer backups replace them. We keep only the ten most recent backups.
- Session recordings: recordings of what the app shows on screen are not linked to your account, so they cannot be found and deleted with it.
- Payments: PayPal keeps its own records of any payment you made, under PayPal’s privacy policy.
- Your PC: BriefingMate for Windows keeps its archive on your PC. To remove that copy too, uninstall the app or clear its data on that PC.
05Delete some of your data
To delete what one PC or phone sent and keep your account, open Account, tap the device under Your devices, tap Remove from your account and choose Delete its notifications too. Its notifications, the briefs written from them and the calendar events only it read are deleted at once, and the device is signed out.
